ARF’s mission is to rescue stray and abandoned dogs and cats from First Nations communities and rural areas and place them in loving, permanent homes while providing programs to reduce pet overpopulation. In order to further this mission and for ARF to grow and expand, a permanent facility is needed. This facility will be used to temporarily house sick or injured animals and offer refuge for nursing mothers as well as provide a headquarters for ARF.
We need $1,000,000 by 2014 to reach our “Pad for Paws” goal, and we know every dog and cat out there is worth it! Donate now
With a permanent facility, ARF will be able to:
- Rescue many more injured and sick animals requiring surgery, quarantine, or veterinary care
- Safely assess dogs with behavioral issues before they are placed in foster care
- Provide a refuge for nursing moms with kittens or puppies before placing them in foster homes
- Provide a location for animal welfare education and information sessions
- Provide a space for events such as Adopt-A-Thons and fundraisers
- Provide housing for recovering cats or dogs that are spayed or neutered through ARF’s spay/neuter programs
- Provide an adoption area for cats
- Provide a space for an administrative office and meeting area for ARF volunteers
- Provide storage space for donated supplies
“Pad for Paws” - A Capital Campaign:
The “Pad for Paws” campaign is a 5-year ongoing capital campaign that is a part of ARF’s overall purpose. This campaign is not a separate entity, but rather an additional ARF campaign to raise funds for a much needed, permanent facility.
ARF continues to rely on the support of volunteers and the generosity of donors to cover our operating costs; however, the funds raised for the “Pad for Paws” Campaign will be put towards the acquisition of a permanent facility for ARF.
The Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) of Alberta is planning to raise approximately $100,000 in 2010 for our “Pad for Paws” Campaign. It will cost our organization approximately $20,000 to reach this goal. All donations designated toward the “Pad for Paws” Campaign will be used specifically for the campaign itself. If for any reason the funds are no longer required or the campaign cannot be completed, the remaining donated funds will be used where needed most at the sole discretion of the ARF Board of Directors. For further information please contact Julie Felber at 403.243.1910. The Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) of Alberta is incorporated in the Province of Alberta.
